Residents of the Cardinia Shire, identifying themselves in crisis, are able to access food from our well-stocked food bank. Visits are initially available as 8 visits spaced a fortnight apart.
On each visit, clients will be asked to show identification proving residency in the Cardinia Shire.
Food is available per household. We can only service a household once per fortnight and not multiple times by different members of the household throughout the fortnight.
Clients will shop, choosing from a range of fresh produce, frozen and refrigerated, dry and packaged goods, and toiletries.
Note: restrictions do apply on some items.
Much of the food is donated directly from producers, Foodbank Victoria and the general public. Some food is purchased by 4Cs.
The Food Room is open Monday to Friday, from 10am to 3pm* (*the last entry to the food room is at 2.15pm. No-one will be admitted after that time)
No appointment is necessary, but identification must be shown to prove residency in the shire before accessing food room. It is not necessary to be on a Centrelink benefit.
Delivery is not available, so please ensure you arrange transport to take food home.
